CÆSIUM® Cs-40

Motor controller for light electric vehicles (LEVs): With a peak output of 40 hp, it delivers the necessary power even for the most demanding applications. Thanks to an operating voltage of up to 200 V, it handles the thermal challenges of typical high-performance low-voltage systems—while significantly reducing the overall weight. The controller uses the proven VESC®software for parameterizable open-source control.

With the CÆSIUM® Cs-40, Neomium brings open-source motor control to industrial high-performance applications—bridging the gap between flexibility and operational safety.

The highlights of the CÆSIUM® Cs-40

High voltage and current capacity: The Cs-40 supports input voltages of up to 200 V (specified for 46S Li-ion) and handles phase currents of up to 220 A. With appropriate cooling and favorable ambient conditions, continuous currents of over 150 A are possible—ideal for high-performance applications.
Comprehensive motor compatibility: The Cs-40 is optimized for a wide range of motors, including those with low inductance. It supports sensorless, sensored and hybrid operating modes, allowing it to be used flexibly in various motor configurations.
Numerous communication interfaces: Equipped with CAN, USB and UART, as well as additional I²C and SPI interfaces via the COM ports, the Cs-40 enables seamless integration into various systems and peripheral devices.
Reliable protection mechanisms: The controller provides configurable protection functions against under- and overvoltage, excessive motor and input currents, high regenerative currents, overspeed in either direction, and overheating of MOSFETs and motors (when appropriate sensors are used). This ensures a high level of operational safety.
Real-time data analysis and monitoring: Via its communication interfaces, the Cs-40 provides real-time data analysis and readout functionality. Users can access parameters such as speed, power, load factor, current flow, estimated range and battery status via the VESC® monitor via the VESC Tool App, enabling informed decisions and system optimization.
Configurable input sources and throttle curves: The Cs-40 supports various input sources, including CAN, USB, Serial and ESP32-C3 channels (with subsequently flashed firmware). It also offers customizable throttle curves and acceleration settings to tailor performance individually.
