What Sets Neomium Apart from Conventional Battery Pack Manufacturers

Custom Development Without Prohibitive Small-Batch Costs

With conventional battery packs, custom designs and comprehensive individual cell monitoring can result in significant development and hardware costs, even at low production volumes.

With mcc,©-Thanks to the patented mcc technology, individual cell monitoring is an integral part of the Neomium architecture. This effectively eliminates the additional costs usually associated with a separate individual cell monitoring system.

This makes custom battery packs economically viable even for applications that require only a few units per year.

Full Control with Neomium mcc©-BMS

Every custom mcc©-battery pack is monitored by our in-house-developed mcc©-Every custom mcc battery pack is monitored and controlled by our in-house-developed mcc battery management system.

The mcc©-The mcc BMS monitors every individual cell, providing a highly detailed data basis for the safe and reliable operation of the mcc©-battery packs. Abnormalities in problematic cells can be detected early and precisely, and the affected cells can be replaced by customers themselves. Conventional battery packs cannot do this.

The interaction between mcc©-architecture and mcc©-BMS enables:

  • continuous monitoring of every individual cell
  • early detection of abnormal cells
  • precise control of the entire battery pack
  • targeted diagnostics when maintenance is required
  • replacement of individual cells

Individual cell replacement built in as standard – even in custom packs

In conventionally welded battery packs, replacing an individual cell is often technically complex or economically unviable. As a result, an entire module or even the complete battery pack may need to be replaced.

With mcc© , the replaceability of individual cells is part of the custom system design from the outset. Defective or aged cells can be selectively removed and replaced.

This potentially reduces:

  • maintenance and repair costs
  • material consumption
  • Downtime
  • waste volumes
  • the battery system’s life cycle costs

mcc© transforms a largely permanently assembled battery pack into a serviceable technical system.

From one-off production to high-volume manufacturing

Neomium produces small batches of approximately 50 to 200 battery packs per year in-house. This keeps development, assembly, testing and optimisation closely connected. Changes can be implemented quickly without first having to establish conventional high-volume production.

For large to very high production volumes, the mcc©-technology is also ideally suited to automated production lines. Conventional welding robots or specialised bonding machines are replaced by pick-and-place-style systems equipped with a precise magnet-dispensing head. This positions small round magnets that connect the cylindrical cells to so-called contact plates, thereby establishing the electrical contact. The process is fully automatable and scalable and preserves the key mcc characteristics even at high production volumes.©-production advantages of exceptionally cost-effective manufacturing.
