Development Engineer for Flight Control Systems (m/f/d) – UAV Dynamics, Control Systems and Integration

 

Neomium GmbH was founded in 2022 and is developing sustainable components for electric powertrains as well as an innovative, efficient cargo drone concept, supported by the German Federal Environmental Foundation and the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs. With our paraglider-based UAV, we are revolutionizing air logistics. We are therefore looking for a flight control engineer to design and implement advanced flight dynamics models and control systems for our cargo drone. Your responsibilities

  • Design and development of advanced flight control and flight dynamics models for a paraglider-based UAV
  • Implementation and optimization of control systems for stable and efficient UAV maneuvers
  • Modeling and analysis of UAV flight dynamics for robust performance in complex aerodynamic environments
  • Development of algorithms for real-time state estimation for UAV positioning and navigation
  • Implementation of coordination strategies for multiple UAVs and command interfaces

Ihr Profi

  • At least three years of professional experience in flight dynamics, UAV control systems or aerospace engineering
  • In-depth expertise in control engineering, flight modeling and aerodynamics
  • Proficiency in developing control systems using MATLAB, Simulink, C++, Rust or Python
  • Experience with the PX4 flight controller, ROS 2 or other real-time flight software frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with embedded UAV electronics and software
  • Knowledge of real-time algorithms for flight stability, adaptive control and fault recovery mechanisms
  • Excellent written and spoken German and English skills
  • An advantage: Familiarity with paraglider aerodynamics
